Tien Fu Wu: Freedom Warrior [2022], Minnesota State Art Board 2022 Creative Support for Individuals Grant ($6,000)

With funding from the Minnesota State Art Board 2022 Creative Support for Individuals grant, I completed the writing and illustrations for a full-color, research-based graphic narrative biography about Tien Fu Wu, a Chinese American community advocate who served as an interpreter in courts and on rescue missions to protect victims of sex trafficking across California and the U.S. during the turn of the 20th century. Limited edition paperback copies will be published independently through Water Pig Press. I presented book talks across local libraries and academic conferences as well as exhibited at various comic arts festivals across North America in 2022.

City of Saint Paul Sidewalk Poet, 2021
